CONSUMER WATCH: Caught in a pool of frustration - Newsday.com: "The post office marked the summons undeliverable and sent it back to the court. McCloy tried again and again, each time paying the court a $15 filing fee. All three times the summonses bounced back, even after he had checked the address with the post office.
'It's not the way the legal system should work,' McCloy said. 'Corporations shouldn't be allowed to do an end run around summonses properly issued.'"
...McCloy could have hired a process server, but serving papers to Island Recreational isn't easy, said James Edge, owner of County Express Process Service in Bellmore.
