School Resource Officer Davis makes friends with teens

Main Street Newspapers: "Davis helps solve issues of discipline that occur at school and keeps a fine eye on the law as it relates to actions taken by students while at school. In other words, Davis is a busy man. He is also all smiles. Students from kindergarten through senior level greet him with a smile right back. A SRO has to foster friendships and with the students and that he does.

In the spring he hopes to do a parent awareness program of issues facing today’s teens such as drugs and alcohol. He wants to key on the middle school students so parents will know more about Internet safety, over-the-counter drug abuse and of course, alcohol, illegal drugs and tobacco.

He also coaches the Girl’s JV Basketball Team and loves that. They are a great group of kids, he said of the team. This is his second year as coach. In the summer he is a process server for the Craig County Sheriff’s Office and he also transports juveniles back and forth to different facilities."
